Mental Wellbeing League to Start in January 2020

ENTER A TEAM INTO THE BRAND-NEW STAFFORDSHIRE FA MENTAL WELLBEING LEAGUE

Staffordshire FA is launching a monthly 7 v 7 Mental Wellbeing League in Stoke-on -Trent on Wednesday 29 January 2020 and we are inviting players, teams and groups aged 18+ to enter a team and get involved.

The league will take place on a monthly basis on Wednesday mornings and will provide an opportunity to take part in competitive fixtures, keep fit and socialise after games over a tea/coffee.

Over the last 18 months we have worked with partners and trialled a number of wellbeing events. Feedback collected from participants around the county has provided us with key information, resulting in the Mental Wellbeing League being established.

The Association is currently working closely with a number of local organisations – including professional clubs community trusts, mental health charities, and grassroots football clubs who have been affected by mental health issues – to raise awareness of mental health and the support network which is available across Staffordshire.

We are keen to ensure that everyone involved in grassroots football across the county is aware of the importance of mental health, and crucially, the support networks available to any individual or organisation affected.
