FA GIRLS FOOTBALL WEEK RETURNS
This year’s FA Girls’ Football Week will run between 6th November and 12th November, and we’re encouraging the whole county to get involved and help deliver session so that girls can enjoy the beautiful game.
With a new Women and Girls’ Strategy, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved, and will help us with our aim of doubling the number of women and girls playing football by 2020.
We’re looking for clubs, leagues, community groups, schools, colleges, universities, and more, to get involved during this year’s Girls Football Week and register your sessions online at FAGirlsFootballWeek.com.
Organisations can register their on-going activities as part of the week, or maybe even start something brand new to kick-start girls’ football.
Staffordshire FA, Football Development Officer (Inclusion), Bethan Woolley, said; "Girls' Football Week has previously been a huge success in the county, and I'm really looking forward to engaging with more females throughout this month's campaign. This is a great opportunity for new girls to get involved, but to also celebrate the hard work that is being done in the county to develop girls football."
"The timing of this month's Girls' Football Week couldn't be any better for Staffordshire and the surrounding area as we also look to promote and raise aware of The Lionesses upcoming fixture at Walsall FC's Banks's Stadium. As a county we are linking in a couple of competitions and prizes to the game in order to provide more females with the opportunity of attending the game."
