FC Gnosall were crowned champions of the 2022/23 Sunday Premier Cup after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Hawkins Sports in a thrilling encounter.

The match got off to an exciting start when, in the 11th minute, Gnosall's Johns turned in from close range to give his team the lead. Hawkins Sports responded strongly, with a couple of promising efforts to equalise, but were unable to convert their chances.

Gnosall then doubled their lead in the 30th minute, taking advantage of a mix-up in the Hawkins defence, with Shanley calmly slotting into an empty net. The first half ended with Gnosall in control, leading 2-0.

The second half saw Hawkins Sports mount a spirited fightback, with some good attacking play. In the 75th minute, they were awarded a penalty, which they converted to reduce the deficit to 2-1. However, despite their best efforts, Hawkins were unable to find an equaliser, and the match ended 2-1 in favour of Gnosall.
