Newcastle Town Football Club is set to take the next step in its journey, with the construction of a brand new 3G pitch.

The work officially began at the Roe Lane site on Monday 13th February, and the club is looking forward to its completion by May 2023.

This exciting project has been four years in the making and is set to provide the club with a top-of-the-line playing surface that will allow players to perform to their best abilities. The new 3G pitch will also provide a major boost to the local community.

The new 3G pitch is a major milestone for Newcastle Town Football Club and is a clear demonstration of the club's commitment to providing its players with the best possible facilities, and to supporting the local community. 

Thanks to a grant of £639,588 from the Football Foundation, work is now underway and the club can look forward to a bright future, and to enjoying the benefits of the new 3G pitch for years to come. Gavin Appleby, Newcastle Town Chairman, said: "Today is the first day on site with contractors so there’s lots going on and lots of digging being done. It’s a really exciting day for us.

"The hope for the pitch is for community use, and to make sure there’s no games called off during the winter. We should have a 52-week solution. There’s a big demand in the area for these types of pitches now, especially with the work that the Staffordshire FA are doing to grow the game."
