Stafford Soccer Mums, a trailblazing football club dedicated to creating a non-competitive and enjoyable environment for women to play football, has been honoured with the Staffordshire FA Lioness Award for the 2022-23 season.

Established in 2019, the club has rapidly evolved into a haven for women aged 18 to 60, breaking down barriers and providing a platform for those who may not have had the opportunity to engage in regular football during their youth.

Founded with a clear vision of fostering inclusivity and camaraderie, Stafford Soccer Mums set out to encourage women with varying levels of football experience to come together, share their passion, and enjoy the beautiful game in a relaxed setting. Their journey began by targeting women who had a fondness for football but were unable to engage in regular play during their formative years.

Since its inception, Stafford Soccer Mums has achieved remarkable growth, creating a vibrant community of women united by their shared enthusiasm for football. With participants ranging from 18 to 60 years old, the club's impact extends beyond the field, providing women of all ages with a sense of belonging and empowerment.

As the club flourished, Stafford Soccer Mums expanded its horizons by forming four teams that compete in the Staffordshire Girls and Ladies Football League's small-sided league. This leap into competitive play demonstrates the remarkable evolution of the club, showcasing the dedication and commitment of its members to excel in a supportive environment.

Stafford Soccer Mums' dedication to promoting female football has transcended borders, as they have ventured beyond their local grounds to participate in tournaments and festivals across the country and even in Europe. These events not only celebrate the prowess of women in football but also serve as a testament to the club's unwavering commitment to advancing the cause of female athletes.

Central to Stafford Soccer Mums' success is its strong emphasis on building a community of like-minded women. By offering a space where participants can bond over their shared love for the game, the club has created a lasting sense of camaraderie and friendship. Women from all walks of life have found solace in this unique setting, forging connections that extend beyond the football pitch.

You can now buy tickets for our second-ever 'Celebrating Staffordshire Football' awards evening on Friday 15th September at Uttoxeter Racecourse. The presentation, which incorporates a three-course-dinner, will showcase and celebrate the outstanding achievements, projects and volunteers across the ever-growing grassroots game we all love.
