The Sam Kimberley Trophy match between The Roaring Meg and Warstones Wanderers NRB took place on a wet evening at Pershall Park.

The first few minutes saw Warstones dominate possession, but The Meg gradually grew into the game and created chances.

In the 15th minute, The Meg forced a goal line clearance from a corner, with the follow-up shot going over the bar. NRB had their own corner in the 30th minute, but failed to convert. However, in the 31st minute, NRB's Haughton beat his defender, executed a nutmeg and scored a beautiful goal at the near post.

As the first half progressed, The Meg started to put on some pressure but failed to convert their promising attacks. At half-time, NRB led 1-0 but The Meg were fired up for the second half.

Both teams came out strong in the second half, with each side pushing for a goal. However, the final ball seemed to break down for each team. The Meg's number 16 received a yellow card in the 70th minute, and a minute later, Warstones' Allen scored to make it 2-0.

The Roaring Meg fought back and scored from a penalty in the 83rd minute, making the score 2-1. In the 91st minute, they scored a dramatic equaliser, nodding the ball home ahead of the keeper to level.

With the score tied 2-2 at full time, the match went into a shootout. Warstones Wanderers NRB eventually emerged victorious, winning 4-3 on penalties.
