Stuart Creswell of Eccleshall Eagles has been named as Staffordshire FA’s Volunteer of The Month for September.

As part of the new ‘Monthly Recognition awards’, Stuart was nominated for his excellent grounds work at Eagles Park.

Stuart has been a volunteer groundsman for the past seven years. His dedication and commitment to providing the best playing facilities for the young players at Eccleshall consistently goes way above and beyond.

Every week he dedicates at least 15 hours to the task but in the lead up to this season this peaked at over 40 hours to ensure the pitches were ready for the first games. This is managed around his day job.

Every Saturday he is at the ground by 7am, mowing the pitches, setting the kitchen up, making sure the car park is set up correctly. During the week he is always working on tasks at the grounds.

Eccleshall, who now have five pitches along with an extended training area, have been able to grow their club to 25 junior teams with over 300 children thanks to Stuart’s hard work.
