Referee Academy
Thinking about what to do at Sixth Form or College?
We are pleased to advertise that applications for Staffordshire FA Referee Academy September 2023 are now open. King Edward VI High School Stafford will provide the base for the course which is a great opportunity for 16–19-year-olds to study alongside developing their officiating skills. The curriculum the school offer will provide students with the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised level 3 BTEC extended diploma (Equivalent to 3 A Levels) in sport. Alternatively, students can choose to study for a choice of A Levels.
This opportunity now into its third year, is the first of its kind in the UK and is an exciting prospect allowing you to study and gain level 3 qualifications whilst rapidly developing your skills as a referee and utilising the vast experience of full-time professional referees.
Alongside their studies students are provided with high quality referee coaching sessions and mentoring which are provided by professional officials, such as Steve Martin (EFL Referee). We also work closely with Staffordshire FA to provide high quality support and opportunities for students to develop their Refereeing skillset. There are numerous opportunities for students to referee games, tournaments (including at St George’s Park) and we also offer the opportunities to join the Staffordshire FA development group & events.
