A Farewell & Thank You to Senior Football Workforce Officer, Danny Hickinbottom

This week sadly sees the departure of our Senior Football Workforce Officer, Danny Hickinbottom

This week sadly sees the departure of our Senior Football Workforce Officer, Danny Hickinbottom, who is leaving his role at Staffordshire FA after nearly ten years to take on an exciting new challenge at England Rugby.

Daniel HickinbottomDanny originally joined Staffordshire FA as our College & Community Football Coordinator, where he made a significant impact on increasing football participation across the College network in Staffordshire and developing students to become coaches and officials of the future.

He then moved into the role of Youth Football Development Officer, and amongst the various tasks within that role, supported Staffordshire Leagues & Clubs through the FA Youth Development Review process, in addition to raising standards by supporting a large percentage of Clubs & Leagues in achieving FA Charter Standard Accreditation.

Danny then took on the role of Senior Football Workforce Officer, leading on the ongoing support and development of coaches, volunteers, and referees, in addition to supporting members of staff from the workforce team and across the office. Danny played an important role in the restructuring of the County FA governance and committee structures, developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and volunteers from across the game.

In addition to the above roles, Danny was also a qualified FA Mentor and Coach Educator, supporting many grassroots coaches in achieving their FA Level 1 and 2 qualifications, and providing mentoring support to coaches and their clubs within their own environments to improve clubs both on and off the field.

Everyone at Staffordshire FA would like to thank Danny for the fantastic service he has given to the Association and to grassroots football across Staffordshire over the last decade, and we wish Danny every success in his exciting new role.
