Improving children and young people's mental health
Action for Children are running two webinars this week to support young people with mental health issues and their parents to use the accessible free online programmes that the Action for Children Emotional Well-being service is providing.
Introduction to SilverCloud - webinars in April
This session is to introduce you to the SilverCloud Digital offer for both young people and parents, which is open access. SilverCloud programmes are evidence-based online programmes designed to improve children and young people’s mental health.
Programmes available:
• Parenting Anxious Children
• Parenting Anxious Teens
These programmes enable parents to work through a number of modules which will look at their own anxieties and how to respond to children and young people who are anxious.
The programmes have the added benefits of providing staff with all the resources they need to support parents to work through with their children, or to work through themselves.
Young peoples’ programmes - these are for young people aged 16 plus and cover a range of issues such as body image, resilience anxiety stress and low mood.
Young people can sign up to these themselves from the website and work through a range of modules in their own time when it suits them to enable them to improve their mental health.
The webinar will show you what is on offer and how you can support parents and young people to use the resources.
No need to book, just log on at the relevant time.
