Online Pitch Maintenance Workshop - Monday 27 April, 7.30pm

Following on from the recent circulation of the guidance ‘Interim Works on Football Pitches’ document, Staffordshire FA are now following that up with an online workshop which will focus on maintaining your football pitches over the coming days, weeks and months, ahead of when grassroots football is finally able to resume.
During the workshop – which will be hosted via a Microsoft Teams Meeting (instructions below) – we will be joined by the Grounds Management Association (formerly known as the IOG) Regional Pitch Advisor Kevin Duffill, along with Staffordshire FA Support Pitch Advisor and Grounds Manager at Stoke City Football Club, Andy Jackson.

During the workshop we will provide a number of updates and answer any questions you may have regarding the maintenance of your football pitches, both short-term or longer-term.

The workshop topics will include:

An update on the funding schemes available to clubs
What may happen to football playing surfaces and the soils beneath should they be left alone for a lengthy period
What can currently be done to maintain football playing surfaces
What works can be carried out when play resumes

The workshop details are as follows:

Date: Monday 27 April 2020

We appreciate that this may be the first online Microsoft Teams Meeting that some people may have participated in, so if you have any questions regarding the process please email gareth.thomas@staffordshirefa.com. Questions in Advance

We will invite questions during the workshop which attendees may wish to ask via the chat button, and look to answer them all towards the end of the evening; however it would be useful to collate any questions you may have regarding your pitch in advance of the meeting – maintenance, machinery, concerns, funding, etc. – in order for us to build them into the presentation.

If you would like us to answer any specific questions during the workshop (relating to pitch maintenance), please email them in advance to gareth.thomas@staffordshirefa.com
