Opportunities Available With Rocester FC

There are currently a number volunteering roles available with Staffordshire FA affiliated club Rocester FC. 

A full list of the roles and explanation of responsibilities can be found below. 

Club Chairman

Reporting to the Club Committee, the Club chairperson is responsible for chairing committee meetings and AGM, assisting the Secretary to produce the agendas and head the Committee in making decisions for the benefit of the whole club including disciplinary matters. The chairperson will also assist with day-to-day operations of the club, including sponsorship discussions with potential interested companies.

As the Chairperson of the Club, it is essential that the successful candidate is an objective, strong leader. As the supporting officer to the Secretary, it is useful to have access to a telephone, the internet and social media if possible.

Candidates would be needed to dedicate two to three hours per month for meetings, as well as many club home and away matches as possible. 

Vice Chairman

Also reporting to the Club Committee, the Vice Chairman is expected to shoulder the responsibility of the Chairman in the case of absence, including being the face of the club in hosting visiting clubs in the hospitality suite. 

Once again, the successful candidate would be expected to dedicate two to three hours per month, as well as attending as many home and away matches as possible.

Kitchen Staff

A key part of the matchday hospitality experience, the club are also looking for Kitchen Staff to work five to six hours fortnightly for home matches, although there would be opportunities to help for non-football related events such as parties, funerals etc. 

This job is suitable for someone with kitchen and hospitality experience, however training will be provided. A food hygiene online course will need to be sat but this would be fully funded for the right candidate.

A full list of the responsibilities include: 

Preparing, cooking and serving hot food and drinks to supporters on Rocester FC Home matchdays.
Making sure food for referees, away club officials and players is prepared and ready to be served on time after the game.
Pot washing (dishwasher available), as well as money handling with cashing up at the end of a match day. 
Providing help and assistance in other ways in which the club might need i.e. parties, funerals and other club events.
Reporting stock levels at the end to Treasurer Barry Smith or another club official.

Bar Staff

Another crucial aspect of the matchday experience, the successful candidate would provide assistance in running the Romans bar and to provide cover when the current bar lady is unavailable. There may be times you are required to run the bar for Ashbourne FC games, who ground share with the club. 

Experience of working in a bar, restaurant or pub would be desirable but not crucial as full training would be provided.  Candidates would be expected to work five to six hours approximately every fortnight for home games.

Serving alcoholic & soft drinks including snacks to supporters/customers on match days and other events as required.
Glass washing, as well as money handling with cashing up at the end of a match day or event.
Providing help and assistance in other ways in which the club might need i.e. parties, funerals and other club events.
Changing barrels and reporting stock levels at the end to Treasurer Barry Smith or another club official.   

Boardroom Host

The Boardroom Host provides hospitality to visiting club officials on Rocester FC home games. Some event hospitality experience would be useful but not crucial and training would be provided. Expenses will be paid for the purchase of any food and drink required in the boardroom. 

The successful candidate would be expected to dedicate three to four hours every other Saturday for Rocester FC home matches. There may be other times where you would be asked to help run non-football related events such as parties, funerals etc.

A full list of responsibilities includes: 

Serving tea, coffee, biscuits before a match to away club officials.
Prepare and serve half time food and refreshments to club officials and possible FA and League Officials.
Assist the kitchen staff preparing and serving players’ food at the end of a game.
Any other jobs that may arise throughout a match day that are required by the club.

Lotteries Manager

The main responsibility of this role would be to administrate the running of the club’s proposed lottery competition. The successful candidate would be able to dedicate a few hours per week to collect payments, make the monthly draw, send payment of relevant prizes to the winner, provide general administration support and attend club meetings.
