SSE Wildcats is Returning for 2020

Staffordshire FA is inviting local clubs and organisations to express their interest in delivering an SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre.

SSE Wildcats

The SSE Wildcats Girls Football Programme continues to be the best environment for girls aged 5-11 to give football a try.

Only 35% of clubs offering female football in Staffordshire have provision for girls aged 10 and under, with only 23% of clubs offering the SSE Wildcats provision

Research has shown that girls aged 5-11 want to play in a fun, social, safe, girls-only environment where they can learn new skills, make friends and have fun. This is exactly what the SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football programme offers.

If you’ve thought about delivering football activity for girls aged 5-11 years, the SSE Wildcats programme can provide you full support, training, funding and opportunities to do this.

SSE Wildcats is aimed to support beginners, aged 5-11, into football by offering regular recreational opportunities to play and take part in fun, engaging activities created just for girls.

We are currently looking for new organisations/sessions for the 2019/20 season, with applications opening in November 2019.

Following expert training, all centres approved for 2020 will start in April. Sessions should take place on a weekly basis, either after school or at weekends, subject to the local organiser. They should provide a safe environment where girls with no football experience can; have fun engaging with sport, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions, learn new things and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

You must be able to deliver the programme for a minimum of two seasons, and have a fully FA qualified coach to lead the sessions. In return you get bundles of equipment, £900 across two years, activity booklets, CFA support, mentor support and national support from FA staff.
