Open Age Futsal Trials
FOLLOWING a successful application process Stoke City will now be represented in the FA National Futsal League for the first time in the 2018/19 season, fielding a men’s team in Division 2 North and a women’s team in the Midlands Women’s League.
The move comes off the back of three successful years running the U19s Futsal education programme and the pilot of a ladies team in last year’s Women’s Futsal FA Cup which saw the team reach the quarter finals.
The Community Trust will be holding trials on the following dates with both taking place at Stoke-on-Trent College Sports Academy, Stoke Road, Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2DG:
Men’s Trials: Monday 30th July 2018 - 6.00pm - 8.00pm
Women’s Trials: Wednesday 1st August 2018 - 6.00pm-8.00pm
The trails are open to players aged 16 and over and can be pre-booked by contacting Duncan Gilchrist on duncan.gilchrist@stokecityfc.com, stating your name, date of birth and previous playing history.
Head Coach Duncan Gilchrist is looking forward to the challenge ahead, stating: “This is a great opportunity for players coming through our programmes to continue to progress in Futsal and a chance for the coaching team to continue their journey in Futsal and test themselves against some already well-established Futsal clubs.
“We are looking forward to seeing what talent we get in in addition to the players we already have on our radar, especially for those who may show potential to push on within the England Futsal talent pathway.”
Places are also still available on the 16-19 Futsal education programme in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent College. For further information or to book an interview please contact Duncan Gilchrist on duncan.gilchrist@stokecityfc.com
