Challenge Cup

The Challenge Cup is our second oldest competition, formed 14 years after the Senior Challenge Cup in 1895 to accommodate the continued growth of football within our region.

It served as the second level of competition within the County until 1978 when the Vase Competition was introduced, and has remained the third level of competition ever since.

In 2012, the competition increased in size following the disbanding of the lower ranked Presidents Cup.

2017/18 COMPETITION

The 2017-18 Competition will be contested between 23 clubs from across the County who can be found below:

Birmingham & District League	Castlecroft Rangers, Lichfield City Casuals, Norton Canes, Pelsall United, Whittington Reserves
Crewe & District League	Madeley White Star
Midland Football League	Brocton U21, Heath Hayes U21, Lichfield City Reserves, Rushall Olympic U21's, Walsall Wood Reserves
Midlands Regional Alliance	Mayfield
Staffordshire County Senior League	Audley Reserves, AFC Fenton, Cannock United, Chesterton FC, Goldenhill Wanderers, Keele University Reserves, Milton United Reserves, NDFC, Red Star Alma, Staffordshire Moorlands FC, Whittington FC

Competition Matches

Matches will be played on the following dates in the 2017-18 season:

Preliminary Round: Saturday 23rd September 2017
Round 1: Saturday 7th October 2017
Round 2: Saturday 4th November 2017
Quarter Final: Saturday 2nd December 2017
Semi Final: Saturday 3rd February 2018
Final: Monday 19th March 2018
