Aspire to be the next Lucy Bronze

For information on FA recreational football programmes and Staffordshire Girls and Ladies Football League, please see the links on the previous page.

In addition to these participation pathways, we also support girls’ school and college football and the talent pathway.

Following in the footsteps of the Lionesses who pushed to boost girls football participation within schools by ‘levelling the playing field’ to ensure girls and boys are offered the same sports. Staffordshire FA is committed to growing the game to ensure girls have access to football at school and we’re working with Barclays Girls Football Partnership leads and School Games Organisers to do this. If you need any more information about school football, please get in touch.

The Girls Talent Pathway is supported by two Emerging Talent Centres within the county as well as the national Discover My Talent programme. Stoke City and Burton Albion host ETCs in which provide opportunities for talented players with potential 8-14 years old to further progress in the game. Discover My Talent is a programme which promotes the accessibility of the talent pathway for everyone. No matter what football environment girls 12-16 years are currently playing in, the referral process ensures any players demonstrating the talent potential characteristics can be recognised on regional events or within their own environments. For more information on the Girls Talent Pathway, please get in touch.
