Referees and Volunteers Required for FA People's Cup Finals Weekend

The FA is on the lookout for referees and volunteers to support its FA People’s Cup finals weekend at St George’s Park in Staffordshire on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April.

Over the last few months, five-a-side teams have been competing in various different categories across the country to reach this stage of the competition. The winning semi-finalists will now compete across 15 categories at St George’s Park on a weekend which will include BBC live streaming, catering, music and more.

REFEREEING OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for category-specific referees to support the event across 15 different categories: University male and female, disability female, disability youth, college male and female (futsal), male and female vets, disability premiership, league and championship, adult male and female, walking football male and female.

Location: St George’s Park, Staffordshire

Dates: Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2019

Matches are playing either Saturday AM, PM, Sunday AM or Sunday PM so you can either allocate a preference for a half day or full day, either Saturday or Sunday, or all!

Timings (approx. dependent on category timings, and subject to change)

• Half Day AM: 09:00 – Briefing, matches from 10:00
• Half Day PM: 12:00 – Briefing, matches from 13:30
• Full day: 09:00 – 18:00

Pay (dependent on hours worked but based on the below)

Half Day: £40 / Full day: £80

Travel & subsistence

Half day: Breakfast provided / Full day: Breakfast and lunch provided

Travel expenses will be paid on an individual basis and dependent on requirements. There is a limited amount of accommodation available for referees who would like to work the full weekend.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY

Event dates: Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2019. We would welcome volunteers either for just one day or the whole weekend*

Timings: Approximately 08:00 – 18:00**

Benefits package: Breakfast and lunch will be provided. You’ll also be provided with an FA People’s Cup branded t-shirt and lanyard, as well as a goody bag to take away with you.

We are looking for eager volunteers to join us over the weekend to support the event across a wide range of roles outlined below:

COMPETITION COORDINATORS

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic people to help us welcome the teams, answer questions and ensure players and spectators know where they’re supposed to be. Part of this role includes working pitch-side, assisting the competition team with fixtures, ensuring that we’re sticking to schedule and keeping track of the results.

REGISTRATION AND EXPERIENCE TEAM

This role includes helping to create an engaging atmosphere for participants and their families, registering teams as they arrive and handing out goody bags, directing teams around the venue to show them where to go, as well as other fun on the day roles.

PITCHSIDE ANNOUNCERS

For those of you keen to get on the mic! We’re looking for a small team of people who are confident talkers and have a basic understanding of sports reporting, live events and have some charisma. Working closely alongside a show manager from London Quest who will provide training and support throughout the weekend, you’ll be given the opportunity to announce scores and fixtures as well as interview participants and captains and volunteers to identify powerful stories.

*Travel expenses will be paid on an individual basis and dependent on requirements. This will be assessed on a case by case basis.
