While Redgate were quick out of the blocks and forced an early corner, Madeley were soon to settle into their stride and took control of the game early on causing problems at set pieces and taking the lead from a corner on just ten minutes.

A header from Daniel Brown hit the crossbar and fell to Harvey Lowe who prodded the ball home from inside the 6 yard box to give them the lead - and they threatened to increase that lead on numerous occasions as Redgate struggled to deal with balls into the box and the only surprise was that it was another 20 minutes before the second goal arrived.

Harvey Lowe was causing problems with his long throw in and it paid off on 32 minutes when Dan Whalley glanced a header into the far corner and their advantage was doubled.

Redgate were by no means being outplayed but they were struggling to make inroads against a stubborn back four and, with the threat from set pieces at the other end, were thankful to go in just two goals down.

The second half saw Redgate threaten the Madeley goal on a number of occasions and it looked like they may forge a way back into the game but failing to make the goalkeeper work too often was going to come back and bite them on the hour mark she Kieron Brown swept home at the far post after another long throw from Lowe had been flicked on at the near post - and it was game over.

Madeley had time to construct the move of the match with Jonathan Sumner finishing a fine cross with a first time shot into the net and, although Redgate pulled a goal back from Joesph Burke on 86 minutes, the trophy was heading to Madeley.

Congratulations to both sides on reaching the final and to Madeley for their win on the night as well as all supporters who made the journey and Newcastle Town for hosting.
