Planet League Cup - Go Green For Your Team

An exciting opportunity is about to kick off nationwide in the world of football – Britain’s biggest climate action football campaign.

An exciting opportunity is about to kick off nationwide in the world of football – Britain’s biggest climate action football campaign.

At Staffordshire FA we have partnered with Planet League, who run sustainability tournaments engaging football fans in taking personal climate action through football. The Planet League Cup will kick off on 10th October, lasting for 5 weeks, and we will be competing as a County FA against other regions in the country – we’d love for grassroots clubs across Staffordshire to get involved!

Anybody associated with the club can sign up for free, choosing any one of over 75 professional football clubs to score goals for – and then all your club’s goals will also count for your local County FA.

To score goals, take simple actions like walking or cycling to training or matchdays, carpooling, using recyclable water bottles and washing the dirty kits on an eco-cycle – there are over 50 ways to score goals.

There is a national league table for professional football clubs, and the more goals their fans score, the higher that club will climb the league, and the same applies for the County FA league table.

Anyone associated with your club can sign up free now at www.planetleague.co.uk – once signed up, make sure you click the Settings tab in the top right-hand corner, and add Staffordshire FA to your account so your efforts help us too!

Staffordshire FA will also be looking at ways of rewarding grassroots clubs across the county who really embrace this initiative – further details to follow on that front.
