Staffordshire Mental Wellbeing League

Starting on Friday 18 February 2022

Following the recent successful first complete season, we are excited to confirm that the Staffordshire Mental Wellbeing League will be back next month, starting on Friday 18 February 2022. The fixtures will run monthly between February and May 2022  and we are therefore inviting players, teams and groups aged 18+ to enter a team and get involved!

The monthly 6 v 6 wellbeing league will take place in Stoke on Trent on a Friday afternoon providing players with an opportunity to take part in competitive fixtures, keep fit as well as socialise with other teams/players.

Alongside the league, we will also be sharing details of a number of local wellbeing football sessions that are taking place in the county for those that may prefer to be involved in recreational football sessions, or for those that may want to be involved in both!

We are currently working closely with a number of local organisations – including professional clubs community trusts, mental health charities, and grassroots football clubs who have been affected by mental health issues – to raise awareness of mental health and the support network which is available across Staffordshire. We are keen to ensure that everyone involved in grassroots football across the county is aware of the importance of mental health, and importantly, the support networks available to any individual or organisation affected.
