November Inclusive Action of The Month

Steven Lote of Lane Head has been awarded Staffordshire FA’s Inclusive Action of The Month award for November.

Steven Lote of Lane Head has been awarded Staffordshire FA’s Inclusive Action of The Month award for November.

Steve has been running the Lane Head Phoenix team for the last four years and is doing a fantastic job. Lane Head have a mixed boys and girls team as Steve sees the players for what they are, no matter of their gender or ability and believes everyone should have the chance to be part of the team.

The teams also has a child that is autistic, so to learn more about this and be able to adapt sessions to suit his needs without excluding him, Steve took it upon himself to complete an ‘Autism Awareness in Sports’ course to be able to understand how to make adjustments to suit all needs of the team.

Steve also completed an ‘Anti-Bullying’ training where the whole team, coaches and himself wore odd socks to support anti-bullying and discussed this with the players. He wants to make the team a safe and supportive place for the players and hopes that it gets them away from their day to day concerns.

“Ste is a real gem to the team and we know all of us would be lost without him.”
