Walsall Senior Cup Reaches Quarter-Final Stage

Two ties remain in the second round, with the quarter-final draw to be made on 23 November.

With just two ties remaining in the second round of the Walsall Senior Cup this season, attention quickly turns to the potential match-ups in the quarter-final draw, which is set to be made on Friday (23 November) afternoon.

As the round reaches a stunning conclusion, matches played in the second stage of the competition have thrown up some great stories.

Holders Rushall Olympic travelled to Wednesfield on Tuesday (20 November) night, with the game finishing in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes. As a result, things went to the wire in the subsequent penalty shoot-out, which saw Rushall Olympic emerge narrow 5-4 winners on spot-kicks.

Meanwhile, last season’s finalists Walsall Wood were eliminated from the competition following an impressive 2-1 win for the RAF men’s representative side, who are making their debut in the Walsall Senior Cup this season.

Sutton Coldfield secured their place in the last-eight with a confident 3-0 away victory over Tividale, whilst Heath Hayes are also into the quarter-finals having emerged 3-1 winners over Tipton Town.

Boldmere St Michaels are also in the hat for the quarter-final draw, having defeated Chasetown 2-0 at the start of the month. That followed on from an emphatic 4-0 win for Lye Town over Stafford Rangers at the end of October.

The two ties remaining in the second round of the competition see Bilston Town host Sporting Khalsa on 12 December, but before then Walsall travel to Brocton on 4 December.

Keep your eyes peeled to social media this afternoon for confirmation of the quarter-final draw.
