VACANCY - INTERNSHIP - FOCUS ON DATA VISUALISATION AND ANALYSIS

We are looking to recruit a data analyst and insight expert to help us use our data better and improve the game for all.

The Staffordshire Football Association is the guardian of the National game in the County. Responsible for efficiently governing and developing the grassroots game, the Staffordshire FA strives to provide positive participation opportunities for all in football regardless of age, ability, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion and socioeconomic status.
Based in Stafford, we have a strategy to support the game locally which includes;

Sustaining and Increasing Participation:
Working with 550 clubs to support over 1800 teams playing football weekly

Developing the Workforce:
Supporting over 8000 coaches, volunteers, referees and young leaders across Staffordshire

Building and improving Facilities:
Improving and rejuvenating Grass and Artificial Pitches, Changing and Education facilities

Effective Regulation of the Game:
Working with 18 grassroots leagues to provide competitions and supporting clubs to meet the requirements of the game and embed Safeguarding at the heart of all that we do.

Role Description

Utilising data to help make the right decisions is a significant part of what we do. We now have more data than ever before to help us understand who is participating in the game and we are determined to ensure that we utilise this data to be as effective as possible to meet the needs of the game. In turn this will allow the Staffordshire FA to make key decisions on investment to ensure maximum impact.

We are looking to recruit a data analyst and insight expert to help us use our data better and provide clear visualisation into how we should be utilising our resources to improve the game for all.

Offered as an Internship, and therefore a voluntary position, until the end of 2018, we are looking to recruit the right person to support our work with data and insight to help the Staffordshire FA move forward with this work.

The key work areas are:

  • Use FA systems including Whole Game/CRM to provide County FA staff with insight into their own work areas, as well as the County as a whole.
  • Pull together key partner data and statistics regarding Staffordshire to match with football data
  • Utilise programmes including Tableau, Google Analytics and Excel to manipulate data
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to establish key reporting mechanisms to meet the needs of the business
  • Analyse the position of the County FA and where gaps in data exist

To apply:

You need to be of graduate calibre, ideally with a qualification related to data, business analyst and insight, having a strong understanding of data systems including Excel, Tableau, Google Analytics. Being able to manage these systems with the knowledge on how a business can improve its efficiency by making better use of the data at its dispersal.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate both team working and the ability to work unsupervised. Candidates should also have excellent interpersonal / communication / presentation skills.
