WALKING FOOTBALL FESTIVAL - IN AID OF THE BOBBY MOORE FUND

Burton Albion Community Trust, in partnership with Staffordshire FA and the Bobby Moore Fund, will be hosting a Walking Football Festival at the new Burton Albion Community Football Centre in July.

The Festival is in aid of The FA’s Charity Partner, the Bobby Moore Fund, and is open to everyone regardless of age or ability. Walking Football traditionally targets players aged 50+, however this particular festival will be open to anyone aged 18+, so a great opportunity for existing walking football players to be able to play football with different generations of their family and friends, in a relaxed environment.

Saturday 8 July 2017, 12.00pm – 3.00pm
Burton Albion Community Football Centre (3G Pitch)
6-a-side format (maximum squad size of 10)
£50.00 per team*

*100% of the entry fees will go directly to the Bobby Moore Fund to fund life-saving bowel cancer research

  • We can cater for a maximum of 16 teams and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, on the receipt of the team’s £50.00 entry fee.
  • Keeping with the ethos of traditional walking football, a minimum of two of the players on the pitch at any one time must be over the age of 50. The idea of this festival is to encourage different generations of families and friends to be able to play football together in a relaxed environment.
  • This initiative is a festival as opposed to a tournament, so results of matches will not be collated and there will be no finals, overall winners, etc. The focus is very much on friends and families having fun together, raising money for a great cause, and also promoting the game of Walking Football.
  • The festival will adopt the FA Laws of the Game for Walking Football.
