The game was toughly contested and evenly poised for the opening half an hour, with neither side managing to break the deadlock. The opening goal finally came after 36 minutes when Greenhoffs fired home to the Spittal Brook near post, taking a 1-0 lead.
The quickly seized the momentum and grabbed a quick second on 39 minutes, before the Spittal Brook goalkeeper gifted them a third on the brink of half time.
Both teams came back out for the second half, and it was Spittal Brook who made the breakthrough thanks to a penalty in the 56th minute, pulling the score back to 3-1.
Greenhoffs finally sealed the game with two further goals on 65 minutes and 72 minutes respectively, earning the PDSL side a comfortable victory.
After last season’s final upset, they were pleased to finally get their hands on silverware in the form of the TB Williamson Cup.
