Referees| 2016/17 promotions

Referees are now able to apply for promotion for the 2016/17 season!

With the 2015/2016 promotion season coming to a close at the end of February, referees are now able to apply for promotion for the 2016/2017 season.

The Staffordshire FA Referee Promotion Scheme provides county officials with the opportunity to progress through the referee pathway. If you are a Level 7 or above, you may be eligible to apply. A Level 7 Referee must officiate as a referee in a minimum of 20 games in one registration period before applying for promotion.

Promotion is decided through assessments completed by SFA County Assessors, attendance at further training events, successful completion of a test on the Laws of the Game and a satisfactory average club mark achieved in at least 20 matches of open age competitive football during the marking period. Other factors including administration and availability are also taken into account.

Officials that are currently within the promotion system will automatically be entered for promotion the following season. If you wish to be withdrawn, please e-mail Referee Development Officer, Matthew Jones on the details provided below.

Following your application for promotion, you will be required to attend a promotion seminar which will include taking a referee examination to confirm your knowledge of the Laws of the Game.

To enter the promotion scheme, officials must provide a £30.00 deposit which is refundable providing you adhere to the criteria whether promotion is achieved or not.

If you wish to seek promotion for next season (1st March 2016 – 28th February 2017) please see refer to the Promotion Scheme Code of Conduct, and complete the Promotion Scheme Application Form.
