Staffordshire FA - developing football for everyone

Charter Standard Schools

The scheme aims to provide a nationally recognised quality control kite mark, improve the quality of provision for boys and girls, sustain participation for players over a longer period of time and raise standards.

To qualify for the award, schools must meet minimum requirements regarding the following aspects:

  • Qualifications of teaching staff
  • Quality of visiting staff
  • Provision of curriculum and extra-curricular football
  • Links to local clubs (preferably Charter Standard)
The FA Charter Standard Schools Programme has now expanded to provide 5 different types of award. These are: Primary, Primary Development, Secondary, Secondary Development, and a Charter Standard for Special Schools. As well as the accolade of receiving the F.A Charter Standard, schools are entitled to a number of benefits, including: use of The FA crest on letterheads and school brochures, access to In-service training, workshops, newsletters, tickets to England Youth International matches, and Charter Standard football equipment.
